Counteracting the Negative Effects of Sitting 

Do you sit in your car for more than an hour and a half a day commuting to work or to visit clients, car pooling, or operating the "mommie mobile"?  Do you sit at a desk for five to eight hours a day? Do you feel tired, achy, grumpy or foggy brained at times during the day?
 
If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions then you want to join us for this workshop.  The media today is filled with statistics of how sitting is affecting our health, mentally as well as physically.   Even with any exercising you are doing pre or post workday, the facts are it is not enough to counteract the negative effects of sitting.  In this workshop, you will LEARN EASY, NATURAL MOVEMENTS you can do at your desk while on the phone or working on your computer.  Techniques that can be slightly modified that will be just as beneficial while driving or riding in a car.
 
Many of us work hard toward our health goals.  Learn how the simple techniques taught in this workshop can compliment your activities, or lack of, and counteract the negative effects of sitting.  Promoting you to feel better mentally and physically to get more from your day.

Couples Thai Yoga Bodyworks

Learn simple techniques of Thai Yoga Bodyworks (a type of massage) to share with your partner in this two hour workshop. Touch is our most important sense. Learn how healthy touch strengthens relationships. Thai Yoga Bodywork promotes mobility as well as healing.

***This workshop can also be a tool for couples to reconnect on a "Date Night".
Bring a bottle of wine, or your favorite beverage, to enjoy while you and your partner learn and experience the benefits of these ancient techniques.

Fascia Tissue Release

Learn what fascia tissue is, how it can constrict our mobility and how to release it's tight grip on our bodies.   It is often fascia that keeps us bound up causing painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis, headaches and a multitude of mobility issues, not our muscles.  Fascia tissue runs from out heals to our heads in straight lines, spirals and criss crosses literally keeping our bodies together.   With the use of a tennis ball, we learn to safely and effectively release this tissue.  If you have had physical trauma or are noticing tightness in your body from your daily activities, take an hour out of your day to learn about and release your fascia tissue.

Mindfulness and
​Meditation Workshop

In this workshop, participants are introduced to meditation techniques to reduce stress, increase focus, boost productivity, develop a healthier mental attitude and strengthen memory.  Learn the details of what these terms are all about and the why and how of using them.  

​Mindfulness and Meditation Workshop participants will experience two to six minute meditations that introduce various techniques.  Participants will explore meditations based on breath, single object focus, mental visualization, movement, taste, thoughts and tension release.  Throughout this process, participants will discover the specific meditation techniques that suit their personality, comfort zone and schedule.  Participants will leave with concrete ways to improve their quality of life.

Partner Yoga

Bring a partner, a workout buddy, a significant other, a friend, to learn how to assist each other with stretches. Partner Yoga is an effective and entertaining way to lengthen your muscles, increase mobility and reduce injury. 

​You do not have to be a yogi to benefit from this workshop. Anyone from teens (15 years and up) to seniors can participate.  The poses are simple and have noticeable results the first time you use them.

Yoga for Alignment
and Stress Reduction

A gentle, no sweat, alignment based yoga class.   When practiced regularly, this series will promote the relief of aches and pains along with reducing workday stress.
This workshop is for beginning through intermediate yogi’s to practice alignment based movements, breathing and relaxation.  The series of movements can be done separately, during short breaks or as one long sequence during your lunch hour. 

See if this workday routine is for you.

***Wear clothing that that allows you to reach toward your toes and toward the sky comfortably.  Gym clothes not required but, suggested.
***Bring a towel or yoga mat if you have one.  Limited mats and towels will be provided.
***You are welcomed to bring your lunch and a water bottle to the workshop.
